A 31-year-old West Kelowna man has been arrested for impaired driving after allegedly damaging several properties, then fleeing the scene on only three wheels.
On Friday night, West Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of a hit and run crash with significant damage to properties in the 3300 block of Old Okanagan Highway.
Police learned a pickup truck, which had been south bound on Old Okanagan Highway, left the road and struck fences and trees on multiple properties.
The driver of the suspect truck failed to stop at the scene and drove off on three only wheels and was seen dragging a large portion of a gate under the vehicle.
RCMP caught up with the badly damaged suspect vehicle stopped in the Shannon Lake area.
The driver of the vehicle, exhibited notable signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment and was arrested without incident. The driver, provided breath samples which resulted in fail readings.
The 31-year-old driver, was issued a 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) and ticketed under the Motor Vehicle Act, for failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
His vehicle was towed from the roadway to be impounded for a period of 30 days.
