Few dry eyes at a candlelight vigil last night at West Kelowna's Royal LePage Place.
Residence gathered to show their respects for the 16 lives lost in the recent Humboldt Broncos bus crash.
Dennis Rosenthal was moved by the support of the entire country.
"It is a very tragic accident that happened and it affects all of us, but it brought Canada together. It really did as one big family. It is very emotional (pause - gathering composure) that way. It is very tragic to see a bunch of kids get killed like that but what it has done for our country, it has been marvelous all of the support we have given Humboldt. It just shows how good Canada is".
Cheryl Hebert isn't a 'hockey mom', but that didn't stop her for taking her children to the vigil to show their respects.
"I don't even have kids that are in hockey. We just love to watch hockey. We pray for those that are on the roads and cheer them on and be there when they play the hockey games".
Shirley Feser was wearing a Kelowna Rockets jersey as she entered the arena with friend Mallie Sutherland.
"Everytime I drive into Kelowna I see trucks. I hope truck drivers realize they need to slow down. Something has to be done. We have too many grandchildren out there that could be hurt".
West Kelowna Warriors Team Chaplin Don Richmond addressed the crowd of close to 400 by saying, "It was hockey's worst nightmare". .
