An elaborate police chase through West Kelowna was triggered accidentally, according to the RCMP.
On Saturday night, a grey Ford F350 was reported stolen from Ironridge Drive. Police quickly located the truck, which took off at high speed when officers signalled for the driver to pull over.
After a protracted chase, local RCMP eventually arrested the occupants of the truck - two men from Cold Lake, Alberta - and recovered a pair of sawed off shotguns from the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed the truck used in the chase was in fact stolen, just not from West Kelowna.
Police are now looking for the vehicle reported missing on Saturday, a grey 2005 Ford F350 with the license plates PB170W.
Anyone with information related to the theft is asked to contact West Kelowna RCMP.
