Plans to build a 32 storey hotel at the site of the former Willow Inn on Mill Street are moving along.
WestCorp says it got positive feedback at a public open house on Wednesday night, that showed off designs for the site across from Kerry Park.
Plans to develop were first approved in 2014, but were ditched in 2016, when the company announced it was scrapping its previous designs.
New ones were finalized last summer, and included an increase in height, from 24 to 32 storeys, as well as to the number of for-sale units at the top - from 25 to 49.
Westcorp says a council decision has been delayed roughly three months, as it worked with city staff on the laneway running between the hotel and businesses on Bernard.
To help widen that lane, Westcorp made some changes to its drawings, and completed a minor land swap with the city, in order to move the hotel slightly north on the site.
The company has also been asked to design, build, and maintain a street plaza along the Queensway, that would lead from the hotel to the new Tourism Kelowna visitor's centre.
Westcorp says this new addition will be luxurious, focused on pedestrians, and feel like an extension of the park.
The company says it's hoping to have council approval by late February, then open a presentation and sales centre on the site in the summer, and have shovels in the ground by the end of the year.
