Rumours persist that former NHL superstar Adam Foote will be the next Head Coach of the Kelowna Rockets.
Owner Bruce Hamilton fired Jason Smith yesterday saying there wasn't enough communication between Smith and the players in order to motivate them to play at the major junior level.
Hamilton has indicated that he's held discussions with several candidates. Along with Foote, other names in the rumour mill include former Edmonton Oilers Head Coach Craig McTavish and former Rockets great Josh Georges.
If you follow twitter, you've likely seen several posts this morning from both sides of the border suggesting that Foote will be Hamilton's choice.
Adam Foote has an impressive resume as an elite NHL defenseman but no experience as a head coach at any level. He was on Stanley Cup winners in 1996 and 2001 with Colorado. He was a member of Team Canada when they won Olympic Gold in 2002 and the World Championship in 2004.
Foote's younger son Nolan is on the Rockets roster now. His other son Cal was a Rocket All Star who has turned pro in the Tampa Bay LIghtning organization.
