BC residents might have a better chance of getting a coveted camping spot at a provincial park this season.
When reservations reopen Monday, only locals will be allowed to make bookings.
Jason Friesen is the Vice President of Voyager RV in Winfield likes the change, "Camping fits that fewer faces and bigger spaces mantra that Dr. Henry's been talking about. BC residents would love a chance to take advantage of those provincial parks and forestry sites that are already pretty hard to reserve. This should help and allow more people to get out and get a mental health break and that experience of the outdoors that we all need."
Friesen says in many recessions, the RV industry is one of the hardest hit, but with COVID-19 its almost become a need.
