Environment Canada says an incoming winter storm will be bringing lots of snow and colder temperatures to Kelowna this week.
A low pressure system from the Pacific will bring 15 to 25 centimeters of snow to the Southern B.C. region, starting at around midnight tonight, and continuing until Wednesday.
Shortly after the snowfall tapers off, an Arctic front will lower temperatures to highs of below zero, reaching as low as minus 15 overnight.
Environment Canada meteorologist Lisa West says that, while Kelowna won’t get the worst of the storm, it will still feel its effects.
“The hardest hit communities will be those closest to the U.S. border,” says West. “But we are going expect to see some snow stretching through the Okanagan.”
A weather statement from Environment Canada says that motorists should exercise caution while driving on the highways of Southern B.C. due to the heavy snowfall.
