Kelowna RCMP are investigating a hit and run that took place just before 6 PM on Wednesday, May 23rd.
Police say a 34-year-old woman was crossing the intersection of Leckie Road and Baron Road when she was hit by a car. The driver initially pulled over, and then took off southbound towards Springfield Road.
The woman was helped by people at the scene, and was taken to hospital to be treated for serious, non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP Corporal Jesse O’Donaghey says there aren’t many details of the suspect at this time.
“Witnesses have been unable to provide an accurate license plate associated to the suspect vehicle, which has been described so far to police as a white SUV, but the driver of that vehicle is believed to be an older female, possible with light-colored or blonde hair,” says O’Donaghey.
RCMP are asking any witnesses to contact them at 250-762-3300.
