Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) was called out Saturday morning (Oct 20) to assist Peachland Fire Rescue in rescuing an injured woman from the summit of Pincushion Mountain above Peachland.
The 46-year-old was hiking with her family when she slipped and broke her ankle.
Firefighters carried the woman down hill on a stretcher before they were met by COSAR.
Search and Rescue transfedered the patient to their singled wheeled, TrailRider backwoods access wheelchair, with handles for carrying and steering.
Crews brought her 2-kilometres to a waiting ambulance where she was transported to hospital in Kelowna.
11 firefighters and 11 COSAR volunteers attended the scene.
