Three Kelowna RCMP officers rescued an injured and unconscious woman from a burning vehicle following an early morning collision on Monday.
Shortly after 4 AM, a Dodge Grand Caravan hit a pole in the parking lot of the Sheraton Four Points on Airport Way, and burst into flames before the nearby officers rushed to the scene.
Moments later, the car was completely engulfed in flames.
RCMP Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says the driver was believed to have gone into medical distress from a pre-existing condition while behind the wheel.
"The 30-year-old Kelowna woman was assessed medically by emergency paramedics at the scene," says O'Donaghey. "She was later transported by the BC Ambulance Service to hospital for further medical assessment and treatment."
Any further witnesses to the crash are asked to come forward to speak with the Kelowna RCMP by calling 250-762-3300.
