Police didn't have to look long for a suspect in a downtown stabbing on Saturday afternoon.
Just before 3:15, police were called to Bernard and St. Paul Street after two young women were approached by a stranger, who stabbed one of them in the back before running away.
Investigators immediately canvassed the area to track down the suspect and surveillance footage, but didn't initially find them.
But less than an hour later after the stabbing, a 21-year-old woman turned herself into the detachment, where she was held in jail before appearing in court today.
Courtney Mae Marciszyn is facing three charges related to the assault, and will be back in court next Tuesday.
The victim was seriously injured by the attack, but is fortunately expected to recover from her injuries.
