The City is developing three community plans that will guide Kelowna's growth over the next 20 years.
They held a public information forum at the Capital News Centre yesterday afternoon.
City representatives were available to answer questions and take comments about the Official Community Plan, Transportation Master Plan and 20 Year Servicing plan.
“When someone attends one of our sessions, they get a passport and there's a series of different questions within that passport that line up with our different stations and they can fill that out and provide that to us,” said Community Plan Project Planner, Robert Miles.
They want the publics input before submitting the next group of drafts to city council, said Miles.
“When you look at what we're signalling in different parts of the city; what do you like about that? What are you excited about? Let us know. Are there any things that you would change? If you live in a certain neighbourhood and there are some changes being proposed; is there anything about those changes that give you concern or anything that you think we should consider that maybe we've missed?”
Miles highlighted the importance of developing all three plans simultaneously.
“So that as we signal certain types of growth in certain parts of the city, we're confident that we're able to follow through with the appropriate transportation investments and infrastructure investments and just make sure everything is working together,” said Miles.
The City is hosting their final expo of 2019 at 9:30a.m on Saturday morning at Orchard Park Mall.
