Summerland evacuation

Summerland officials are targeting Thursday to allow residents of Prairie Valley, Deer Ridge and Garnet Valley to return home, although parts of Garnet Valley could reopen without electricity or pressurized water.

Frustration is growing among Summerland evacuees who want to know when they can return home, but emergency officials said Tuesday the volatility of the Bald Range wildfire makes it impossible to give them a firm timeline.
