Kelowna fire crews were called to a grassfire Friday afternoon (July 3, 2026) at the corner of Clement Avenue and Spall Road.
KFD say around 2:30 pm they received multiple reports of the fire. When crews arrived, KFD says they fire showed rank 2 behaviour at the base of the rail trail. the fire had grown to approximately 100ft x 200ft moving uphill towards the Kelowna Cemetery. Crews advanced hose lines on both flanks of the fire. The fire was quickly contained around the perimeter and extinguished.
The fire is suspicious and currently under investigation.
The Kelowna Fire dept responded with three engines, one tender, one bush truck, one command unit and 19 personnel.
