West Kelowna Fire Rescue (WKFR) says late this afternoon, crews responded to a quickly growing grass fire along Highway 97 and Sneena Road.
Smoke was highly visible along the highway and to onlookers in the City Park area. WKFR says the fire grew to 300ft x 75ft before being halted by crews who worked alongside WFN Law Enforcement Officers and the RCMP.
The fire is now out.
WKFR request the public stay out of the area as crews complete mop up activities.
Local roadways and Highway 97 will be temporarily disrupted but are expected to reopen.
