Rockets drop game 3-2 in a shootout to Winterhawks

The Kelowna Rockets lost 3-2 in a shootout to the Portland Winterhawks, marking their fourth straight game requiring extra time.

The first goal of the game saw Jordan Duguay score for the Winterhawks, followed by the equalizer from Jacob Henderson just under a minute and a half later. The second period saw Trevor Toyne put the Winterhawks back on top with the only goal of the period. The Rockets tied the game with less than three minutes left in the third period as Henderson scored his second of the game to send the Rockets to overtime for the fourth straight game and the fifth time in their last six games. Overtime came and went, meaning the game would be decided in a shootout. Portland came out on top.

The Rockets will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Victoria for a meeting with the Royals.
