Kelowna Firefighters rescued 10 people, including at least 2 children, from a patio boat that had stopped running on Okanagan Lake this afternoon.
Platoon Captain Kelly Stephens says they received a distress call at around 3:30pm when water starting flowing into the boat.
He says they were able to locate the vessel and the people on board, 5 kilometres north of the Delta Grand Hotel.
“We moved them to our rescue boat and we got on their boat and found that we could get it going again and managed to maintain that boat while we brought the people securely in to the Yacht Club area.”
The people were checked over by paramedics but other than being shaken up, everyone was ok.
