BC Green Party leader Andrew Weaver will not run in the next provincial election and he has asked the party to begin the process to find a new leader.
He intends to remain as the top Green until a replacement is chosen. He expects that to happen by next summer.
Since he will not be resigning his seat, today's announcement will not disrupt the fragile balance of power in the legislature.
The three Green Party MLA's have kept the NDP minority government in office.
