A West Kelowna man who violently raped, choked, and threatened a woman will be handed his sentence on Friday, September 14th.
35-year-old Jeremy Czechowski was found guilty of sexual assault, unlawful confinement, and uttering threats at the end of his six-day trial back in May.
The charges stem from an incident in February of 2016, when a woman entered Czechowski’s residence, where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted over the course of two hours.
After leaving the residence, the victim called the police and was brought to KGH to receive medical treatment for the injuries she sustained from the assaults.
Forensic reports shown during the trial revealed that the victim had suffered a goose egg on her head, bruising on her back and neck, and tears to her rectum, which Crown Counsel said were signs of non-consensual sex.
Czechowski’s psychological evaluation is set to be completed late next month, and a pre-sentence report will take place afterwards.
The identity of the victim is protected under a publication ban.
