A special weather statement is in effect across the Okanagan.
Friday afternoon winds could gust between 30 and 50km/hr. “The real concern then comes evening when winds should be more in the range of 50, gusting to 70 kilometres per hour, or more,” says Lisa Ervin, Environment Canada Meteorologist.
Ervin cautions, “Secure loose objects down, take extra precaution when setting up tents, try to avoid heavily wooded areas. For folks looking to get out on the water, please bear our forecast in mind.”
The high winds aren't expected bring any rain or thunderstorms and should dissipate by Saturday morning.
