Crews have made some headway at a wildfire 15 kilometres northwest of West Kelowna, and BC Wildfire Service, Fire Information Officer, Nicole Bonnett says the fire is being held.
“It’s still at 1 hectare in size. We had 2 crews out there, for a total of 6 fire fighters and one piece of heavy equipment, which is a water tender.” Bonnett says the crews have been working on mopping up the fire and BC Wildfire doesn’t anticipate any more fire growth, “It’s basically just smoking at this point. It’s minimal fire activity.”
