For most of us the heat is an inconvenience that can be avoided by stepping back into the air conditioning.
For the homeless in Kelowna, it is a completley different story.
With temperatures in the mid 30's, the Kelowna Gospel Mission's Randy Benson says beating the heat isn't easy.
"In a case like this, we are always open 24-7 in the extreme heat to make sure that people have a place to go indoors and cool off. Our courtyard has shade and we have the sprinker going and we have water available for hydration for those that need it".
Benson says outreach workers will be out with water, sunscreen and hats helping people who are unable to access the Gospel Missions services.
