West Kelowna residents will have a chance to have their say over a major housing proposal.
Council gave first reading to the Blackmun Bay Hillside Village development last week, and after receiving a petition of close to 300 signatures, it was decided that a public hearing should be held before a second reading. No date has been set yet.
The development would create 460 various types of housing on a 7.1 hectare property along Campbell Road in Casa Loma. A marina and boat launch would be created along with 60 townhouses, 280 condos and a 120-room hotel. The developer's initial proposal last fall called for 492 homes and three fifteen-storey towers, along with a hotel. This latest proposal would mean three eight storey towers, as well as a hotel.
